The last time ASUS announced a new gaming notebook in Malaysia was way back in March of this year with its ROG (Republic of Gamers) G56JR. ASUS is now claiming that its latest ROG G Series G551 racks up more performance points than its predecessors with its 4th-generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M GPU.
The ASUS ROG G551JM series have been designed to deliver the raw power that is necessary to run most of today’s modern games, in their Full HD glory or beyond. The notebooks come with a wide-angle (178-degree) IPS display, and the NVIDIA chip has Microsoft DirectX11 support as well as the ability able to handle 4K/UHD with its Trinity Display output (since we all know that multi-monitor gaming is the only way to go). In fact, the Trinity Display output will allow users to connect up to three other external displays via HDMI 1.4 or Mini DisplayPort 1.
To handle the audio, ASUS has included its SonicMaster Premium system to deliver high-fidelity sounds, as well as the ROG AudioWizard feature that allows users to choose from 5 different presets to suit the gaming mode. ASUS has even added a headphone amplifier that has been tuned by its own Golden Ear team for a better experience when gaming with a headset on.

To counter that, the G551JM has an efficient thermal management system that dissipates heat with minimal fan noise, ensuring that the only noise that users will hear is the one emanating from the game itself.
The ROG G551JM notebooks come with a matte-black brushed-aluminium finish and what ASUS calls ‘red diamond-cut’ edges. Its keyboard has been designed with gamers in mind, with specially marked WASD keys for easy identification during gameplay and a full numerical keypad at the side. These seamless one-piece chiclet-type keyboards have backlit keys that glow red for that added effect when playing in a dimly lit room.
